I Won Liza's Giveaway
Safeway Trip on 1/22
I passed by at Safeway on Jan. 22 just to buy diaper for our daughter. Since she's not using diaper at daytime, I bought the Pampers Comfort diaper for night time. I had a print out manufacturer's coupon for $3 off from my previous grocery shopping at Safeway so I brought it with me. I also loaded my Safeway card with the ecoupon for $2 off any pampers diaper.
Here's my breakdown.
Less Mfr. eCoupon $2.00
Less Scanned Coupon $3.00
OOP $4.99+tax
I think I did good with it :-) Before I am not paying attention of the coupons that were handed to me along with my receipt from grocery stores. Now I know better in using it.
Be Saving in Diapers
Well, I blogged in my Blessed Sanctuary that our daughter is already learning to do her business in her potty not on her diaper. Now that she is showing a big improvement, I will not be buying diapers in boxes :-) Of course until we will have another one :-) For now, I can say that it's a great feeling that our DD is crossing this big milestone in her toddler-hood. It'd be a long way to go until she is totally potty trained, no accidents whatsoever, but I am very proud of her. She is learning fast and I can't thank enough. I told my husband about our DD's progress everyday when we talk over the phone or online and we both share the same feeling of happiness and he's very proud of her as well.
So for now that I am not buying too much diaper, it adds on to our savings :-) I know I can't help it but before I bought two big boxes of diaper a month. Starting this year I only bought one pack of the smaller one and until now there still some left. If I remember right I only bought pull ups 4 times and didn't use it while training her. I am happy that everything is going smooth with her potty training.

Saving on Groceries
I have been clipping coupons for my groceries for sometime now but honestly I don't have a strategy to use it to my advantage. Last year I already bought myself a coupon organizer and started to do what other coupon geeks are suggesting. But then it came to a point that I got lazy since I did not see much of a difference when I shop. Then I realized that the problem is me. I don't have proper planning when going to the store. Sometimes I have a list but most of the times I don't have. This year I will do it differently and follow step by step the strategy that I read at the couponmom.com.
Yesterday after me and our daughter attended the Sunday mass, we went grocery shopping. I went to two different stores. I brought with me my shopping list and vowed to stick to it. The stores that we went to were Albertsons and Safeway. I am a preferred customer card holder of both stores.
My total for my Albertson trip was $85 and the combined savings from store coupons, manufacturer's coupon and preferred savings was $34.31. I ended up paying $50.69. Which I know can still be lowered because I did not have coupons for other stuff that I bought. Next time I will apply the things I learned and read from the couponmom.com and hopefully I can save some more. At Safeway store I didn't get the stuff that I have in my list since they run out of it.
I think I did good in my first attempt of combining store coupons, manufacturer's coupons and preferred savings at Albertsons. Hopefully to improve my shopping strategy on my next visit. It is very inspiring reading blogs that talked about how they save from their grocery shopping and it is my goal to do the same as well.

First Earning with Sendearnings
I started joining sendearnings.com in 2008 but it is off and on. It is one of those online income generating business where you get paid to click emails, make offers, take surveys, play online games, shop and others. I only click emails that they sent to me and seldom do the others. Last year I was already eligible to cash out since I reach the payout amount of $30 but I became inactive so the payment request that I did was not processed. It is part of their terms to be click emails everyday so your account will not be deactivated. I forgot about it and the email I used I seldom open. So, lately I reactivated my account. I started over to click emails and take surveys again. I requested payment and will receive my first check from them in March for the amount of $33. I am excited for it and will post the check here as soon as I get it.
So for those that are interested why not check it now. It may be small but it sure can help generate income. If you want to earn more, there is more to just clicking and reading emails. You can do other things too to boost your earnings. Click the banner below and see what's in store for your for this new year.
Barbie Trike
Last Christmas I was thinking of getting a trike for our daughter. I saw lots of trikes for 3 years and up but it's all expensive. The one I was eying that time was more than $40. So I thought of waiting until this month. I was checking the online site of Walmart the other day and saw that they have this barbie trike from Fisher-Price on sale for $25. I showed it to hubby and he said I can get it for our DD. Their site showed that they have it in store so I headed there yesterday. The price they have on the shelf was still $40 and I checked it through the scanner but I cannot get a price. I asked their associate and the lady told me it's on sale for $20. I'm glad I waited. I think I got a good deal with it.
It's a cute pink and purple trike. Very girly. The assembly was easy except that it needs another person to hold the other end of the axle when you put the nut cap on. But I managed it by myself alone. Now, our daughter is having fun riding it inside our apartment. She still need help with pedaling though. She still can't reach all the way to the pedals :-)
