Kids Fashion: #OOTD on Hearts Day

When the kids told me they’re having their valentines day party on the 13th, I scoured their closets on what to dress them on that day. They want something red to wear. I thought I could use something old and something new for them to wear.

For my oldest, I was thinking of letting her wear her old denim skirt and just get her a top. Our youngest on the other hand don’t have red dress or top so I ended up getting her one. As you know, I don’t want to pay full price for my kids’ clothing. I shop on the clearance rack as always and love to find great deals that is just right on my budget.

DD1′s outfit:

  • Target – Circo Sweater  $3.48
  • Target – Circo Tights $3.48
  • Her old denim skirt.
  • Old Navy Glitter Flats $4.99

DD2′s outfit:

  • Old Navy Red Sweater Dress $7.49
  • Target Xhilaration Poncho $6.88
  • Hand-me-down hearts tights from older sis.
  • Elastic glitter flats from Burlington Coat Factory $4.98

Backyard Playsets

We have a good size backyard. The lawn is manicured but devoid of trees for shades or any plants to make it look pretty and inspirational. Our kids have been asking us to get them backyard playground. I have seen a swing set in williamsburg that my girls would surely love, but I thought it will occupy a bigger area of our backyard. Our neighbor ordered a backyard playset and her husband put it all together. It looks very neat. It will also be a good way of having the kids just playing in the backyard especially this summer season. My kids love to go to the park and having something like it in the comfort of our own place would be a heaven for them.

Ready for Black Friday?

Happy thanksgiving to all! But after the celebration tonight I bet most of you are ready for the black Friday sales. I would love to shop for the holidays but I don’t have the money to buy all that I want to give to my family and friends. So I will see what I can get for them until Christmas.

This black Friday thing is a big thing for all shoppers who wanted to get stuff for discounted or sale price. I remember when I was working in retail the long lines in stores just to get those door buster items. Some store open at midnight and some very early in the morning. So make sure you have planned out your strategy before heading out your door.

If, and only if, I go shopping on black Friday, first thing I will do is check out stores that I wanted to go and know the special events. Some stores have certain times that they put their items on sale for very low price. Some would have it as soon as they open and usually until noon. Also compare prices beforehand. Some stores will match up the price of their competitor,so make sure to bring in the flyer with that item from different store.

I love to experience early black Friday shopping but I don’t think I can withstand the throngs of people that will line up and rush in as soon as the door opens. I am afraid I will be run over. I may just go online and enjoy shopping at the comfort of my home.

Graduation Fashion faux Pas: What Not to Wear to Your Graduation

Looking for the perfect thing to wear on your big day can be really difficult. This is your last college hurrah. Surely, you would want to remember this day for the rest of your life. This is why there is a pressure in finding a really good graduation dress. Although there are really no laws regarding what a graduate should wear. There are some things that you avoid wearing, most especially if you will be having an outdoor graduation.

Here are some of them:

Prom dress

Of course, a graduation is a formal event. However, you must keep in mind that what may be acceptable to wear to a prom may not be for graduation. This is because, well, these are two different types of formal events. You can wear a formal dress but avoid colors that are too bright. Do not wear anything that is covered with lace or flare out like the ball gown of Cinderella.

Wedding Dress or Bridesmaid dress

A Graduation may call for a more business like dress. Do not wear ivory or white long gown. Once again, you are a graduate and not a bride.

Flowy maxi dresses

You would not want to wear a dress that is longer than your toga. That would be awkward. Yes, you can wear sleeveless dresses but opting for what look like a summer dress is a big no-no.

If you wish to know which dresses are perfect for graduation, then head to www.dressfirst.com. They offer a wide array of graduation dresses that you can choose from.
